Valley players win the awards

Moonee Valley players have scooped the pool for the batting and bowling awards in two of the grades in which we played in 2019/20.

We won both the batting and bowling in the NWMCA’s Girolami Shield, where our Fifths won the Premiership.

And we topped the averages for both batting and bowling in Mercantile’s C North grade, where our Thirds play.

With the Thirds, Ian Denny won the comp batting award for 316 runs @ 39.5, while the evergreen Dean Jukic topped the bowling with 30 wickets @ 9.

Liam Shaw was a runaway batting award winner in the Fifths, with 317 runs @ 74.2.

Cassidy Box carried all before him with the ball, snaring 29 wickets @ 10.31.

And with our Fourths, Jaykumar Patel was unlucky to finish equal runner-up in the C Sunday batting award, with 253 runs @ 36.14.
