Thirds celebrate in style
by
Moonee Valley's Third Eleven celebrated the 50-game milestone of Sunil Bhandari with style, with a solid win over Brunswick and a six-wicket haul for Muhammad Amir.
Sunil took 2/26 to help seal the win.
It was a worthy milestone for Sunil, to go with his 100 wickets for the club and around 600 runs to date.
Muhammad's 6/58 was part of an interesting scoreline - all six wickets were bowled.
At right: Celebrating the milestone: L-R. Back - Vinny Singh, Prashant Hirani, Sunil Bhandari, Sagar Bhatia, Josh Norsetter and Amolak Singh Saini. Front - Muhammad Amir, Chand Shrestha, Maks Rahman, Sukhi Jaiswal and Sunny Singh.
And even more interesting was the Brunswick innings - nine of their batsmen were out bowled, and the last batsman was run out - by Sunil!
The game was played "across the ditch" - at Holbrook Reserve, on the far side of Moonee Ponds Creek to Ormond Park.
Brunswick batted first and set us a target of 208, which we chased down five wickets down, helped by a solid 87 from Chand Shrestha.
