Shauny, in his 250th game, took a wicket, took a catch and also stunned the Ormond Park crowd with a direct hit runout from side on to swing the match.
Luke also had a big day, taking his third senior five-wicket haul - 5/50 to snuff out Point Cook Centrals for 149, after they looked like building a sizeable total.
Our victorious Thirds team at home for Prashant Hirani's 50th game: L-R Maks Rahman, Sunil Bhandari, Chand Shrestha, Sagar Bhatia, Lachlan Smith, Vansh Tandon, Joshua Norsetter, Prashant Hirani, Vinny Singh, Sukhwinder Jaiswal and Muhammad Amir.Shaun celebrated his milestone match with a good win over St Albans in the Fifths, while Brocky's Firsts are well placed after Day 1 of their two-day game.

And to continue with the milestone theme, Prashant Hirani played his 50th game for Moonee Valley on the Sunday, with the Thirds winning a nailbiter at home v Williamstown Colts. Sagar Bhatia posted his 1000th run for Moonee Valley in the same game. Prashant Hirani bowling in his 50th match, with Chand Shrestha keeping.

A gun fielder, Shaun has won eight fielding awards across the grades since he made his debut in 2005/06, and has also taken out both batting and bowling awards.

He was part of our Sixth Eleven Premiership team in 2013/14.

Luke made his senior debut at Moonee Valley in 2013/14, and has been a fixture in our First Eleven for a good part of his career to date, opening the bowling and sometimes the batting.

Luke is a fiery customer with ball in hand, and unsettles the opposition batsmen with his sheer pace.
Prashant Hirani in our Thirds brings up his 50th game on Sunday - playing at home.
Prashant is the current MVP for the Thirds, was one of our five Wisden Players of the Year in 2022/23 and was in our Wisden Team of the Year in 2020/21.

Congratulations to Luke, Shaun and Prashant - and to many more games at Moonee Valley.

HOT OFF THE PRESS - OUR 2023/24
WISDEN IS HERE AT LAST!

The Moonee Valley 2023/24 Senior Wisden is out now – perhaps a bit late, but we think it’s worth the wait for the hours of reading, reviews and statistics it offers.
It's a bumper edition - 150 pages - and chronicles our great club's past as well as our present, including photos and details of the season.
For the first time, we have separated and collated the career statistics of all our women players. See if you can guess the only two players who have reached the 50-game milestone.
The stats of our women players are also still in the club’s all-time consolidated list of all senior players.
It's all in the Wisden - so have a look and see.

Moonee Valley Firsts put up a strong showing to announce our arrival in Division 3 of the Victorian Turf Cricket Association.
In our first full outing since being promoted from Div 4, the team amassed 4/303 declared after cleaning up Sunshine Heights for 175 on our Ormond Park home ground, then got them 1/63 in their second dig.
A good win in a higher division is enough to warm the hearts of the Life Members - L-R Daniel Phillips, Mark Gauci and Darren Nagle. The October 26/November 2 Round 3 game was our first full outing, after Round 1 was washed out and Round 2 was abandoned on the second day due to rain.
At left: A good win in a higher division is enough to warm the hearts of the Life Members - L-R Daniel Phillips, Mark Gauci and Darren Nagle.
Division 3 is the highest we've been in the grades since we won promotion to North Division in 2010/22 - just one grade below the top division.
Our team against Sunshine Heights had seven players aged 22 and under, so we're setting ourselves up for a sustained run of success. Captain Jack Newman bludgeoned 93 runs off just 44 balls, while young guns Luca Nimorakiotakis (80) and Krish Kanchan (60) set the tone for our innings as our openers.
And on another promising note, our Seconds also had a solid win - bowling Sunshine Heights out for 106 and declaring seven down for 199.

A FAMILY AFFAIR AT THE VALLEY

Proud dad Paul Sevenson with his sons - Jeremy (left) and debutant Luke.FOR DADS &

SONS

Moonee Valley has had three sets of father/son trios take to the field so far this season - which confirms that the next generation is well on the way to coming through the ranks.
Chairman of Selectors Jason Walsh has played a Thirds game with sons Jordy and Riley - and Jordy has already played First Eleven at Moonee Valley.

Junior co-ordinator Paul Sevenson in the Fourths game on October 13 had the honor of playing with his sons Jeremy and Luke.

And Life Member Geoff McKeown has also taken to the field this season with his sons Oscar and Oliver in our Fifths.
It continues a long tradition at Moonee Valley of parents and their children playing for our club - although not necessarily all in the same team at the same time.
