LIFE MEMBERS PUT ON A
SHOW
Moonee Valley Cricket Club thanks its Life Members, who held a Life Member & Past Player Day at Ormond Park on February 18 and then funded and catered for the poker night.
Life Members in attendance were Ian Denny, Gary Irons, Darren Nagle, John Talone, Danny Terzini, Mark Cini, Dean Jukic, Kevin Gardiner, Greg Peters, Bob Sciacchitano, Joe Ansaldo, Jim Polonidis and Charlie Walker. Sandro Capocchi made the salads, but wasn't able to stay around for the function.

The members got to see the end of the First Eleven victory over Caroline Springs, but most missed the Sixths game on the adjoining eastern oval - Valleys knocked off Northern Lions, previously top of the ladder, in quick time before anyone could arrive.
Club President Charlie Walker announced to the gathering that 16 Valley Life Members will also be inducted into the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association's "Red & Black Club" for 200-game players.
While Moonee Valley fell out of favor with the old NWCA when we pulled out our senior sides in 1997/98 to go to turf, association changes over the years and the amalgamation with the old Moreland Moonee Valley Cricket Association mellowed the stance.

When the NWMCA decided to count MMVCA matches towards the 200 games a year ago, a tally of Moonee Valley players' games opened the door.
Our players will be honored guests of the NWMCA at its Red & Black Club functions - usually at least once a year, at the Grand Final of the one-day comp involving Luscombe Shield teams.
