Sagar reaches half century - twice

Moonee Valley's Sagar Bhatia brought up his maiden half century on Sunday - twice.

Playing his 50th game for the Valley, Sagar smashed his highest score - 62 not out.

He opened up his shoulders as we got closer to the time when skipper Dom Gibaldi prepared to declare in the rain-shortened match.

We set Parkville District a healthy target of 7/261 declared off our shortened allocation of 36 overs, leaving ourselves 35 to bowl them out.

Parkville put up the shutters to be 3/76 when the game was called off seven overs early.

While the match result was a draw, it was still Sagar's day.

He's been at Moonee Valley since his neighbors the Bannister boys convinced him to come down for a tryout in 2018/19, and brought up his 50-wicket milestone last season.
