Past player profile :
Rod McLeod A founding member of the club

Rod was an important cog in the early successes of the 1st XI teams' winning 3 premierships in the first 8 years.

Playing 140 games from 71/72-86/87 he was a busy top order batsman who kept the score ticking over and a brilliant wicketkeeper, once taking 6 catches in an innings.

'Rick Dick' amassed 3471 runs @ 25.34 with 2 centuries and a top score of 132, winning the senior batting award in the premiership season of 74/75; he also collected 4 senior fielding trophies.

A life member and 1970s team of the decade member, the club was a real family affair for the McLeods with wife Betty and daughter Sharon both regulars in the canteen or at the scorers table. Son Scott also played 75 games, taking over 100 wickets.

Rod later won batting awards in the second and third XIs and held the club's games played record from 74/75-84/85 and held the most runs made title from 73/74-78/79.

With a ‘chirpy’ presence on the ground, typical of most MV keepers, Rod was a big game player - making 72 in the club's inaugural premiership win and 82 in the second some 3 seasons later.

Rod McLeod is a MVCC legend in every sense of the word.
