Cricket update - VTCA

by

The Victorian Turf Cricket Association – Moonee Valley’s Firsts and Seconds – has prepared a range of scenarios for a 2020/21 season, depending on when the all-clear is given for summer sport to resume.

These scenarios involve a range of two-day and one-day matches, and also some Twenty20 games as part of the regular season if the season starts later than hoped.

The earliest possible start under the scenarios is October 14, with a different mix of games for starts in subsequent weeks.

If the season start is pushed back to November 14, the season will revert to one-day games only.

The VTCA has also adopted the Duckworth Lewis system of determining a result in weather-affected one-day games for the First Eleven only.

The team batting second will need to have received at least 20 overs for the system to come into play – anything less would be a draw if there is no outcome.
