Cricket Update - NWMCA
by
We appreciate the initiative of the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association in keeping clubs and players actively informed on progress during these coronavirus-challenged times.
NWMCA president Peter Bryceson and administrator Bill Maddern have now issued two Youtube conversations where they open up about season prospects amid the uncertainties.
The latest can be found at https://youtu.be/9Ax5TLasDG4
It's recommended viewing for players and parents to get some indication of where we're going - at least with the NWMCA. This is the competition where our Fifths to Sevenths and our juniors play.
Peter advises that the season start is dependent on when Councils release grounds and facilities, and the likelihood of this not happening until we get back to Level 2 restrictions.
The NWMCA is working on a season start of early to mid November at the earliest. If not, the season could start as late as late January to get in a viable season, albeit with one-day only games.
Peter and Bill also discuss some junior issues, so it's well worth a look.

Moonee Valley Cricket Club President.
