Winter comp training schedule
by
Greetings Moonee Valley players and supporters:
I hope you're watching the progress of Moonee Valley's Mid Year Cricket Association team in our inaugural season in the winter comp.
You will be able to see the highlights from the scores from our two wins in the usual way - go into the Club website and into the results. Dial in 2013 as the season and you'll find our competition and details.
It has been decided that we will train on the Saturdays when games are not fixtured. Training sessions will run from 11am until about 12.30, and we have been allocated use of the nets at the southern end of the No. 9 oval at Fairbairn Park, off Woods St, Ascot Vale.
No. 9 oval is the first oval on your right as you come in off Maribyrnong Rd and come down the Woods St hill. Our actual home ground is No. 8 oval, which is the next oval to the west.
The dates for training for the rest of the season are:
Saturday, May 11.
Saturday, May 25
Saturday, June 8
Saturday, June 22
Saturday, July 6
Saturday, July 20
Team captain Stephen Ward will determine if we need extra training sessions, and we'll notify players via email and the Club website if this is the case.
Our first two games in the comp have been strong wins to Moonee Valley, and already we've racked up some personal milestones which will find their way into the 2013/14 Moonee Valley Wisden.
For example, Amit Chaudhary took his 100th wicket with Moonee Valley.
Bede Gannon made his 1000th run for the club.
Umar Farooq carried on from where he'd left off in the regular season, snaring 5/24.
We scored a team-high 23 sixes in the first game, when we compiled 7/333 against Pascoe Vale Central.
So hop on board!
Cheers,
Charlie Walker.
