Winter comp: Team for Round 1

Our 2014 Mid Year Cricket Association season kicks off this Saturday, with an away game at Fairbairn Park in Ascot Vale.

The team for Round 1, on Saturday, May 3 is: Anthony Cafari, Sam Carbone, Bede Gannon, Mark Gauci, Kern Kapoor, Neil King, Gaurav Malhotra, Jack Newman, Michael Ozbun (capt), Ben Thomas, Matt Thomas.

The game is against Northern Lions A. It's at No. 4 oval - with the attached map showing the location of the grounds at Fairbairn Park, Woods St, Ascot Vale.

The match starts at midday. Skipper Michael Ozbun wants players to arrive around 11am.

Selectors Michael Ozbun and Matt Thomas plan to run a streamlined selection process. They plan to have the team selected on the Tuesday before the match.

They also want to hear now from players who are available for Round 2 - on Saturday, May 5.
