Welcome to winter cricket

We welcome our entry to the Mid Year Cricket Association tomorrow, when Moonee Valley plays its first game.

We've got a home game at our allocated winter home ground, Fairbairn Park No. 8 oval, off Woods St, Ascot Vale.

We're keen to get supporters down to cheer us on for our first game in this one-day competition of 35 overs a side.

Moonee Valley is hosting Pascoe Vale Central. The match is Saturday, April 27. It starts at midday, and should finish by 4.45. Fairbairn No. 8 is the oval immediately down-river from Fairbairn 9, which is the oval with the old bluestone pavilion that's on your right as you drive down the Woods St hill from Maribyrnong Rd.

Our selected team is: Stephen Ward (capt), Amit Chaudhary, Jake de Niese, Khalid Hassan, David Leece, Matt Thomas, Ben Thomas, Umar Farooq, Muhammad Maaz, Saeed Akram and Michael Ozbun.

We'll work out our training schedule over the next few days and communicate it to members.
