9539 4844 – North West recorded advice line (including juniors).

The North West Metropolitan Cricket Association weather line for the weekend commencing Friday, February 7:

All senior one-day and two-day games for Saturday, February 8 have been cancelled due to the forecast extreme heat.

Junior teams playing Friday evening and Saturday morning need to be aware of the forecast hot temperature and take appropriate steps under Bylaw 5.2.4.

When the ground temperature reaches 35°C for junior grades or higher, play will stop and may not resume until the temperature drops below again. The temperature is to be checked by phoning Melbourne 1196 and utilising the temperature for Melbourne Airport.

On days of extreme heat coaches, players, umpires and officials should carefully observe any player or umpire who is distressed and take appropriate and swift action.

The North West Metropolitan Cricket Association reserves the right to cancel a day’s play where extreme temperatures are forecast. All Clubs should continue to monitor this weather line.

Message posted 1.22pm Friday, February 7.
