Our junior finals this weekend

March is finals time for junior cricket and Moonee Valley CC has a feast of junior finals cricket action on this weekend:

 U16D – Semi Final

This is probably the feature event on the card, being conveniently located at our Ormond Park home ground. A barnstorming finish to the season which saw the boys undefeated from Rd 4 onwards placed this talented team 2^nd and into a home final against Taylors’ Lakes, who surprisingly, they haven’t played at all this year.

The boys have plenty of depth in batting and bowling, never lack for inspiration and know how to get back on top when things don’t go their way.

U12 Black – A Grade – Quarter Final:

Last year’s C Grade premiers have played some bright cricket this season but have found A Grade to be of a very high standard. This match is 3^rd vs 6^th and Kensington have comfortably won both previous home and away encounters.

Reverse results don’t happen very often in U12 3^rd vs 6^th quarter-finals, but they do happen. And if anyone can engineer good cricket from this talented bunch, it’s astute coach Paul Baks and his able lieutenant, Bill Blair.

U12 White – Fri/Sun Grade – Quarter-Final:

This team is composed of many players new to the club whose chief strength is their togetherness on the field.

Although they’ve been beaten comfortably by Avondale Hts on both previous occasions, the top team haven’t had it all their own way. We expect a spirited showing from these young lads who have been well-supported by coaches Steve Krassaris and Mick Cumbo.
