Our Christmas break - and training
by
We have now got a couple of weeks off from cricket to recharge our batteries and enjoy the festive season, and I extend best wishes to all our players, members and families.
May you enjoy the break and take the opportunity to catch up with friends and family.
Despite the predictions of a hot and dry summer, we've still managed to miss multiple weeks of cricket due to the rain - including the obligatory first week of the season lost to downpours.
Most of our teams are in promising positions on their ladders, but we all need to ensure we hit the ground running and give ourselves the best opportunity for finals when we come back for the season half of the season.
The Firsts through to the Fifths all resume their games on the January 6/7 weekend, and training resumes on Tuesday, January 2. It's normal Tuesday/Thursday training from 6pm, so players should get in a minimum of one session to ensure we're match-ready.
Our women's team has an extended break - their season resumes on February 4 - and we have the bye so we're not back on the park until a week after that.
So have a happy and safe holiday season and let's catch up next year.
Charlie Walker.
