Our call for our captains

by

The Moonee Valley Cricket Club is now calling for applicants for captains for all our grades from the Seconds to the Sixths.

We are also seeking applications for the role of Chairman of Selectors.

The grades, and where we've applied to play, are:

Second Eleven - VTCA turf team, playing opposite our Firsts in the draw. The grade is a two-day grade.

Third Eleven - Mercantile Cricket Association. 20-week turf season in a one-day grade, playing home games; mainly Saturday away games.

Fourth Eleven - Mercantile Sunday one-day turf. This grade will focus on creating senior turf experience for younger players, particularly our players still in juniors. It will include several experienced players to help guide development.

Fifth Eleven – our highest-graded hard wicket team. It is playing Saturdays in the NWMCA two-day competition, which comprises six two-day games and six one-day games.

Sixth Eleven - NWMCA one-day comp - probably a Saturday team.

A panel of committee members and coach Lou Raffaele will interview suitable applicants.

We will also consider submissions from players wishing to nominate as vice-captains.

Written or email nominations should be sent to Charlie Walker on charlie.walker@optusnet.com.au by Wednesday, August 31. Any interested players wanting to discuss the roles can ring Charlie on 0409 237 543.
