LAST BALL THRILLER: DOWN TO THE WIRE FOR

WEBB-JOHNSON/PASCU CUP
Moonee Ponds had just one ball to spare when they edged past our Moonee Valley team in the Webb-Johnson/Pascu Cup match to raise awareness for men's health issues. Their No. 8 bat edged a four off the fifth ball of the 20th  over to overhaul our total of 7/137cc in the Twenty20 fixture, played at their Aberfeldie Park ground on January 23.
The win gives Moonee Ponds hosting rights again next season.
Heath Webb-Johnson's widow Lezanne and their children Reid and Bree were there to watch proceedings, along with good attendances from both Moonee Valley and Moonee Ponds.
The Cup was first contested in 2020/21 following the passing of Moonee Valley's Heath and Moonee Ponds' Gary Pascu, and both clubs saw the need to promote and highlight men's health.
It is a perpetual reminder of two loved and respected players and mates no longer with us.
