Get your new One Day Valleys kit

Order your Moonee Valley colored kit now

The VTCA requires all First Eleven teams this year to wear colored clothing for one-day games and T20 matches.

Colored clothing is optional for Second Elevens - but if clubs wish to wear it, all players need it. Simon Thornton has done an excellent job organising the design of Moonee Valley's colored kit - in our time-honored colors and black and white. The VTCA has come to the party and will supply us with five sets of black pads.

We're now taking orders for the colored clothing, and the design and details are included here.

The lead times on ordering mean that we have to place orders by mid August to allow the 6 weeks for the shirt to come for the season start.

As you can see, we're able to offer individual numbers on the shirts - but you have to get in quick to ensure that your preferred number is not already taken.

Please contact Simon to place your order, on the contact details above. We're sure the kits will appeal to everyone at the club - not just the guys who would expect to play in the First Eleven.

New coach Lou Raffaele
WELCOME BACK LOU!

Our new coach appointment confirmed

Moonee Valley Cricket Club is pleased to advise of the appointment of Lou Raffaele as our senior coach for the 2016/17 season.
Lou Raffaele (right) coached Moonee Valley for four seasons from 2007/08 before stepping down for family reasons. His time as coach included our dual Firsts/Seconds Premierships in the North A Division in 2009/10.
Although he stepped down as coach, Lou continued to pull on the whites for Moonee Valley until last season, when he took up umpiring in the higher grades in the VTCA.
Our 2015/16 coach, Life Member Mark Gauci withdrew his application for the coaching role for next season because of family and work commitments. However, Mark was on the coach interview panel.
We shortlisted for interview three candidates from the eight applications we received for our coaching job, and Lou Raffaele ticked all the boxes.
Since his appointment was confirmed by our Committee, Lou has worked on some talent assessment scoping with a view to identifying our squad needs to get us back in the finals next season.
Please join the Club in welcoming Lou back to Moonee Valley - recognising that he has never really left us!

OUR NEW PAVILION'S ON THE WAY

The Moonee Valley Cricket Club is to get a new $2 million pavilion, following a decision by the Moonee Valley Council on Tuesday, May 24.
Our new $2 million pavilionCr Nicole Marshall advised MVCC President Charlie Walker and Moonee Valley Football Club President Steve Radford of the big decision within hours of it being approved by Council.
Cr Nicole MarshallIt's the culmination of years of advocacy and lobbying by both clubs, as the present Ormond Park pavilion is outdated, shabby, too small and not fit for purpose.
Charlie was quick to thank Cr Marshall (left) for her advocacy on our behalf, along with fellow ward councillor Jim Cusack.
Cricket, football club and sporting club representatives gave Cr Marshall and Cr Cusack and Council officers a tour of the pavilion during our last season, pointing out a range of shortcomings.
"We have allocated $2 million in the budget for the design and build of the Ormond Park Pavilion in the 16/17 financial year," Cr Marshall advised Charlie Walker.
"Thank you very much for inviting me down to the pavilion for the visit. I didn't appreciate just how bad the condition of the facilities was.
"My only regret was that I didn't come down earlier and that you have had to wait so long for this rebuild."
Again, our thanks go to Cr Nicole Marshall and Cr Jim Cusack for piloting this major project through Council.
