OUR 23/24 CAPTAINS - ANNOUNCED
The Moonee Valley Cricket Club has announced its captains and key personnel for season 2023/24. Jack Newman (pictured right) is captain of the First Eleven for the sixth season - as well as having been elected to the club committee. The reappointment of Mark Gauci as senior coach was previously advised. Our other leaders are: *Second Eleven - Domenic Gibaldi reappointed. *Third Eleven - Manu Singh reappointed. *Fourth Eleven - Prem Janarthanan. *Fifth Eleven - Andreas Skiotis reappointed. *Sixth Eleven - to be determined. *Women's Team - Tara Newman reappointed. Jason Walsh has been appointed Chairman of Selectors.

Senior training - now Tuesday/Thursday Moonee Valley cricket - recruiting now
Senior training is now back to the usual Tuesday and Thursday evenings, starting 5pm. Moonee Valley is open to new senior and junior players leading in to 2023/24. At right: Moonee Valley batsman/wicketkeeper Suraj Weerasinghe (centre right) was presented with his trophy at training by coach Mark Gauci. Suraj was selected in the VTCA Division 4 Team of the Year. Our senior training sessions are at our home ground at Ormond Park, Pattison St, Moonee Ponds. We field men's teams on both turf and hard wicket, and both Saturday and Sunday grades. Our premiership-winning women's cricket team plays in a Twenty20 competition on Sundays. We have juniors at Under 16, Under 14, Under 12 and Under 10 level, and these teams play Friday evenings. Pre-season training is on Fridays for our juniors - for more information, see details under "Juniors" at the top of this page. At left: More than two dozen players are turning out each week for the Ormond Park training sessions - Tom Janetzki (left) leads out to take a catch in the fielding drill.
