SARAH TO SET A NEW HIGH MARK

Our Women's team captain Sarah Fenn will soar to new heights on Sunday by becoming the most-capped women's player in our Club history.
Our milestone player Sarah FennSarah will take to the field in her 54th game, surpassing the record held by Clare Ardern, who played in our first iteration of women's cricket almost two decades ago.
A two-time Premiership player, Sarah has an insatiable cricket appetite, regularly attending Big Bash and international matches. As well taking over the captaincy of our top-of-the-ladder Women's team this season, Sarah has played winter cricket at Moonee Valley and played a number of games in our men's teams.
She first played for us in the 2021/22 season - lured back to the sport after playing a bit of cricket in primary school teams.
And Sarah's passion for cricket isn't just onfield - she became Club Secretary this season and in that role has a crucial involvement in the overall development of our club, as well as ensuring that the views and interests of our women members - both players and families - are part of any decision-making.
Sarah will reach the milestone in a home game, playing Keilor Park Brunswick in the February 9 match starting at midday.

LAST BALL THRILLER: DOWN TO THE WIRE FOR

WEBB-JOHNSON/PASCU CUP

Moonee Ponds had just one ball to spare when they edged past our Moonee Valley team in the Webb-Johnson/Pascu Cup match to raise awareness for men's health issues.Honoring Heath and Gary: Captains Jack Newman (left - Moonee Valley) and Patrick Didham (Moonee Ponds) with the Cup and Heath Webb-Johnson's children Reid and Bree. Their No. 8 bat edged a four off the fifth ball of the 20th  over to overhaul our total of 7/137cc in the Twenty20 fixture, played at their Aberfeldie Park ground on January 23.
The win gives Moonee Ponds hosting rights again next season.
Heath Webb-Johnson's widow Lezanne and their children Reid and Bree were there to watch proceedings, along with good attendances from both Moonee Valley and Moonee Ponds.
The Cup was first contested in 2020/21 following the passing of Moonee Valley's Heath and Moonee Ponds' Gary Pascu, and both clubs saw the need to promote and highlight men's health.
It is a perpetual reminder of two loved and respected players and mates no longer with us.
