Christmas Cheer - led by the Valley Fourths

Century-maker Sam Carbone (right) celebrated his milestone - and the Christmas break - with Mick Bannister. Our Fourth Eleven was front and centre on the main stage at the Moonee Valley Cricket Club Christmas party - and didn't let us down when they triumphed in a close match.
The crowd of fellow players, partners, supporters and family were on the edge of their seats for much of the December 18 game but our team triumphed by three runs, on the back of a century from stalwart Sam Carbone.
Sam brought up his third Moonee Valley ton just a week after his 2013/14 Premiership team-mate Mark "Junior" Cini scored his maiden century.

Our Christmas party thanks goes to the key organisers, including the evergreen Dan Terzini, Dean Jukic and Agatha Soccio, Pat and Nick Taylor, Mick Cumbo, Simon Thornton and Peter Golding.
Peter Golding won the main raffle prize of $500 cash, and promptly put half of it back to the members.
Special thanks to Dan Terzini for again organising the pasta and chicken for the excellent meal, and to Dean and Agatha for the salads.

          Support from the freeway contractors

Mary-Anne Lane from CPB Contractors shows her support for Moonee Valley Cricket Club with players (from left) Dean Jukic, Matt Esmore, Daniel Comande, Nate Wolland, Stephen Esmore and Nadeera Thuppahi.
People who use Ormond Park and those who live and travel along the CityLink corridor will be aware of the work being carried out on the freeway as part of the CityLink Tulla Widening project.
A lot of the heavy equipment has been using our Ormond Park and its carpark for access to the construction works, and CPB Contractors has shown its support in helping us overcome any inconvenience by sponsoring our match balls this season.
The Tulla project involves adding new lanes and other measures to improve traffic flow across 24 km of freeway between the CityLink tunnels and Melbourne Airport. The project will provide significant travel time savings between Melbourne Airport and Power St during peak periods.

CPB Contractors has been very supportive of the clubs using the park, working with us to minimise disruption and recognising and thanking members for their patience during construction.
If you would like to find out more about the CityLink Tulla Widening project, visit citylinktullawidening.vic.gov.au. The construction team has asked us to wish us all the best for the cricket season and to pass on thanks to everyone for our patience with project work.

OUR NEW CLUBROOMS - NOW THE

DRAWINGS ARE HERE

The $2 million redevelopment and expansion of our Ormond Park pavilion is progressing, with the project plans signed off with the Moonee Valley Council. The next step was the elevations showing the concept of the outside structure, and we received them in December. Here are the elevations - and a link to the PDF document.

We're sure our members will agree that the new rooms are truly something to look forward to.

There is still a lot more to be done before construction starts and the finer detail of our new pavilion becomes a reality.
