Our MVP night - a Reunion affair

Moonee Valley Cricket Club held its Most Valuable Player night at the Reunion Bar in Union Rd, Ascot Vale on Sunday, March 10, and a good night was had by all.
We did the vote count for our MVP awards and also announced the winners of the Fieldlow awards.
The MVP medals were presented to the winners, while the Fieldlow best fielder awards will be part of the proceedings at our Presentation Night on Saturday, April 20.
Host Matt Clare of the Reunion Bar is a Moonee Valley cricketer and a sponsor of the Club, and did us proud with a night of presentations, music and a late licence which enabled us to celebrate well into the early hours.
It was also a chance for us to unwind after coming up short earlier in the day in our two senior semi finals - the Fourths and the Sevenths.
The MVP night also saw the presentation of key milestone awards - players reaching Winding down after a marathon effort in the Sevenths: L-R: Semi finallists Peter Whebell and Phill King, with Victoria Thorneycroft and Peter Golding.games, wickets and runs milestones, and those celebrating key achievements such as centuries and five-wicket hauls. Thanks to Matt for hosting such an excellent night.

end of a long season

A group of Moonee Valley cricketers ventured to the wilds of Lancefield on the March 23/24 weekend to mark the end of the 2012/13 cricket campaign.
We may have only got three senior teams into the finals, but it was still a season worthy of celebration.
The bush property in the Cobaw Ranges outside of Lancefield is the winter haunt of Charlie and Murray Walker, who cut and haul firewood from it and sell to customers in Melbourne.
The weekend was a chance to relax and let the hair down, without the formalities of an official end-of-season cricket trip.

Appy to go - Moonee Valley's new smartphone app is now up and running

Moonee Valley's members and supporters can now get their own free smartphone app, to keep in touch with everything that's happening around our Club.

The app, designed and built by Brendan Wright - brother of Fourths stalwart Norm - can be downloaded free through either the Apple Store or the Android Play Store. Simply go into the store and search for "Moonee Valley" and you'll find it.

Brendan's company, website and app developer CommunityToGo has scored some major contracts with their apps, so Moonee Valley Cricket Club is grateful and honored that the company has developed and launched our app.

Smartphone users can check all the Club information - they're notified when something new comes up on the website or our Facebook page, and will be able to instantly look and see whenever we update scores on game day via our Twitter account.

Our members can check every upcoming game on the fixture and get GPS directions to every ground our teams play on - seniors or juniors.

Already more than three dozen of our members have downloaded the app. All members should download and use it - and make sure you let players and supporters of opposing clubs know what a great app we have - and that it's courtesy of Brendan Wright and CommunityToGo.
