Firsts, Seconds off - all other senior grades still on

The VTCA has cancelled all of its grades this weekend due to the rain.

That means the Firsts and Seconds are off. The Firsts will play a make-up game on a Sunday in the coming weeks. Details to be determined.

The Seconds game will be called a draw.

Our Thirds and Fourths have Sunday games in Mercantile. At this stage they are still on, and Mercantile is keen to do everything to enable all or most games to get on. Mercantile would not be expected to make a call until at least Saturday afternoon for the Sunday games.

At this stage there has been no announcements from the NWMCA about our senior grades - Fifths, Sixths, Sevenths, Eighths and Women - but as it's a hard-wicket competition we would expect there will be every chance given to enable play.

We have three vacancies in the Eighths on Sunday - so anyone who has missed out on a game with the cancellations please contact me on 0411705381 and we'll try and get you in.

Also, I want to lift the covers at Ormond Park on Saturday morning to have a look at the pitch the Thirds will be using Sunday, and to let it air out.

Could I please get a few people down about 9.30 tomorrow to lift the covers for a look - keen for some support from some guys in the Seconds and Thirds.
