Call for our captains

by

The Moonee Valley Cricket Club is now calling for applicants for captains for all our grades from the Seconds to the Sevenths.

The grades, and where we've applied to play, are:

Second Eleven - VTCA turf team, playing opposite our Firsts in the draw. The season comprises seven two-day games and seven one-day games.

Third Eleven - Mercantile Cricket Association. 21-week turf season of seven two-day games
and seven one-day games. Sunday home games; mainly Saturday away games.

Fourth Eleven - Mercantile Sunday one-day turf. This grade will again focus on creating senior turf experience for younger players, particularly our players still in juniors. It will include several experienced players to help guide development.

Fifth Eleven - our highest-graded hard wicket team, having won the Barron Shield premiership last season. It is playing Saturdays in the NWMCA two-day competition, which comprises six two-day games and six one-day games.

Sixth Eleven - NWMCA two-day hard wicket comp, with Sunday home games and mainly Saturday away games.

Seventh Eleven - NWMCA one-day comp - probably Saturday team.

A panel of committee members will interview suitable applicants. Rex Bennett, as coach and Chairman of Selectors, will also be involved.

We will also consider submissions from players wishing to nominate as vice-captains.

Written or email nominations should be sent to Club Secretary Adam Patchell on emailpatch@gmail.com by Friday, August 29.

Any interested players wanting to discuss the roles can ring Charlie Walker on 0409 237 543.
