BUSHFIRE FUNDRAISER
A shed full of firewood and a sawbench tractor go up in flames on the Walker property.The Moonee Valley Cricket Club is holding a cocktail night and fundraiser on November 21 for Club President Charlie Walker and his family, who were badly affected by the Lancefield bushfire.
Charlie and his family - cricketer sons Murray and Nigel and wife/past player Adele, run a firewood business, and lost almost 500 cubic metres of wood, three tractors, a log snigger, bulldozer, 500 acres of bush, 7.5km of fencing and a lot of other equipment.
Tickets are $50 per head for the Saturday night fundraiser, at Club sponsor the Laurel Hotel in Ascot Vale.
