Milestone at the MCG for our Milo kids

Moonee Valley Cricket Club's Milo Have-A-Go playes had the thrill of a lifetime when they got to play on the MCG - and on the first day of the Boxing Day Test, no less!

As one of the rewards for getting up and going this season, Cricket Victoria invited Moonee Valley to be part of the action on the biggest day on the world's cricket calendar.

Our Milo co-ordinator, Sandro Capocchi, along with former Club president Darren "Spud" Nagle put together our group of players and parents to showcase their skills on the hallowed turf. A number of Milo programs were booked to play at the MCG over the Test, but Moonee Valley was honored at being one of the few on Day 1.

We topped up our numbers with a few Moonee Valley Under 10 players, and the youngsters all did our club proud.

The kids all agreed it was a thrill to be there on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test - but not as big a thrill as Sandro - our Club president - felt when he walked ont he same hallowed turf of the MCG as the likes of Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath were treading on the same day.
