Bairnsdale practice games: Need to finalise numbers now

Our Bairnsdale pre-season practice trip is coming up next weekend - Saturday, September 24.

We need to finalise our numbers now for the two teams which will be competing against our hosts, Lucknow Cricket Club for the McKeown Trophy. Intending players should email charlie.walker@optusnet.com.au

The games start around 10-10.15am. Our First team will be playing on turf, and our Second team on matting on the adjoining oval.

It's about a four-hour trip from the north-west suburbs to Bairnsdale, so we have to factor travel into the equation.

Our present acceptances are: Mark Gauci, Sean O'Kane, Peter O'Kane, Amit Chaudhary, Phill King, Stephen Ward, Trent Milne, Charlie Walker, Vic Hodge, Craig Pridham, Simon Thornton, Lou Raffaele, Peter Golding and Pat Taylor - so we've still got a lot of spots to fill.

We are organising accommodation through the Grand Junction Hotel, which one of the major sponsors of the Lucknow CC.

To assist in our booking, I need to know: Are you coming? If so, do you need a booking for accommodation for either Friday night, Saturday night, none or both?

It's also a fair trip down and back. If you wish to come and play, please indicate if you would want a ride (and which day or days you would be wanting to travel down and back) or if you've got a spare seat or seats in your car (again, which day or days will you be travelling up and back?).

Please let me know asap so we can finalise our booking and ensure we've got the players to proudly represent the MVCC and seize the McKeown Trophy from Lucknow.
