Bad luck to the Fifths

We congratulate the Fifths on their excellent season, and offer our commiserations that they weren't able to turn it into a Premiership win.

The guys were gallant in defeat to Canterbury at Fawkner Park on March 23, and skipper Darren Nagle is to be commended that he stuck to his guns and maintained his policy of giving every opportunity to the Under 16 players in the team.

Our 93 runs on a sticky wicket weren't enough, and we created a number of chances before Canterbury passed the total three wickets down. Matt Wenlock was man of the match for his gutsy performance with the bat to try and hold the innings together.
