Back to Blighty for jovial Joel

After ribbing us all summer about the whipping the Poms gave us in the Ashes, Joel Wilford is heading back to England this weekend.

To give him a good Aussie farewell, there's a sendoff party for Joel from 6pm this ~~Thursday~~ WEDNESDAY at the Union Hotel, on the corner of Union and Maribyrnong Rds, Ascot Vale.

He was only with us for one season, but Joel made a great impression around the Moonee Valley Cricket Club - both on and off the field. And what's even better, he's threatening to come back for the 2012/13 season after a year back home in England - and even considering coming back permanently.

Who can forget his great century in the Seconds against Doutta Stars, and if the rest of the team had been able to find four extra runs the Twos would have been in the finals.

So come to the Union from 6pm on ~~Thursday, March 24~~ WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25 and send Joel off in style!
