Al takes out the North West batting award

Cougar wins the bats stats
Moonee Valley Sixths player Alan Harry (right) from our Sixth Eleven has won the North West Cricket Association batting award in his grade, after amassing 321 runs during the season in the Barron Shield at an average of 45.86.
Playing in the NWCA's fifth grade, our Sixths had an excellent start to the season before finishing third and dropping out in the first week of the finals.
And runner-up in the batting award was Al's teammate Dean Lawson, who compiled 372 runs at 41.33.
And Deano's stats look even better when you add in the semi final - 44 runs - and a game in our Fifths - 98 not out - to give him a season total of 514 runs at 51.4.
But Deano's stats were not enough to get him past "the Cougar" in the Barron Shield - even though he was at the other end for part of the time of Al's innings which got him over the line.
Alan pulverised the Buckley Park attack for 155 not out batting at No 3, while at the same time Dean hit 157 in an opening partnership of 212 with Steven Ball. Alan and Dean added a further 58 together as the Valleys compiled a club record score of 3/475.
Batting mainly at No. 3 and 4, Alan scored consistently throughout the season.
And he wasn't the only Moonee Valley player to take out a North West batting award.
In Under 12 F, playing against the boys, Jacinta de Niese (right) made 238 runs at 39.67.
As well as showing she could mix it with the boys, Jacinta showed she could also mix it with the women - playing six games in our senior women's teams and scoring 44 runs.
A gun wicketkeeper, Jacinta finished the season across Under 12s and seniors with 22 catches and two stumpings.
Well done to Alan and Jacinta - our Moonee Valley champs.
