Walker, Graeme "Charlie"
June 2009 (Stats to end of 08/09)
Lower order batsman and lower order bowler is the best description of Charlie's cricket prowess.
Moonee Valley's junior co-ordinator for seven seasons until he was elected president in 2008/09.
He has been involved in junior team management and the Club since the inception of the juniors in 1996.
He's also involved in running the Club's senior one-day teams, and is Moonee Valley's most dedicated recruiter of dads from the junior ranks.
Charlie's the only four-time winner of the Lindsay Jones Best Clubman award.
Nickname: Charlie
Favorite Australian Test cricketer: Merv Hughes.
Why do you admire them? A moustache to kill for - and someone who proved that carrying a bit of weight wasn't the end of the earth.
Favorite Moonee Valley Cricketer Paul Nicol
Why do you admire him/her? 100% effort in every game he plays. Sometimes guys can drop the intensity a couple of notches when they come down to play Sevenths, but not Pickle. He's either teaching the young blokes skills, or giving his all with bat and ball.
How would you like the club to describe you/your attributes/your career ? On-field career: Forgettable. Made a more lasting contribution off it.
Your proudest cricketing moment with Moonee Valley: All occasions when young men I coached in juniors win an award.
Your funniest cricketing moment with Moonee Valley? Sandro doing Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid on Tim Fisher's pushbike.
Charlie Walker (left - minus his moustache) has his life membership medallion pinned on by Club founder Ray Storey at the 2006/07 Presentation Night at the North Suburban Club.
